Guildford needs Blair to go says former MP

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 1st May 2006

Responding to the latest round of revelations on Shadow Cabinet Members Sue Doughty said:

"Guildford has many reasons to see Clarke, Hewitt and Prescott go. A rape conviction by someone who should have been deported, closure of local hospitals, and the grab of council house cash to send North have all given Guildford people a major headache."

She has called for Tony Blair's resignation as Prime Minister.

"In any business, failure at the top at this scale would have only one outcome - the resignation of the Chief Executive. This man was elected by far less than half the electorate. Shareholders in a business have a bigger say in who their leadership is. The British public has been dangerously short changed by Blair. He must go now."
