Long wait for school bus was in vain

Following a letter to her from the Transport Minister Charlotte Atkins which stated that the government would not be funding the Pegasus School Bus Project Sue Doughty, MP for Guildford said:

"We have been waiting over four years for this school bus, only to be told that it is not coming. This is not good enough. I want to know why the government turned down the scheme, despite their consideration of all aspects of the project, and how much the County Council has spent on this failed project. The County Council was quick off the mark to get the credit for this scheme which would have reduced congestion and provided a safe means of travel for primary children. We need to know just what went wrong."

they may wish to consider how best to take this forward using Local Transport capital block allocation."
