MP praises life saving event

3.02.01pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 7th Mar 2005

Sue Doughty MP who today attended "Safe Drive Stay Alive" at the Dorking Halls said:

"This is a hard hitting event which should have a positive impact on young people's driving. I hope that every school in Surrey will ensure that 16 and 17 year olds have a chance to see it. Too many people die on Surrey's roads each year with many lives ruined. Young people are involved in far too many accidents, and too many die. We must ensure that we take every opportunity to give them the information which can save lives. I am just sorry that I was the only Surrey MP who attended this event which was the result of brilliant team work led by Rob Green, Community Fire Safety Officer and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service."
