Casino Decision Disappoints MP

1.02.27pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 1st Dec 2004

Guildford's MP Sue Doughty has expressed her disappointment at the decision by the planning inspector to allow a large casino in the centre of Guildford. She said:

"This casino will encourage drop in gambling. It will add little to the town centre which already has full employment at night and problems of overcrowding. I hope that Guildford Borough will think hard before granting and operating licence and a premises licence. They should take the opportunity to veto all new casinos in the town."
