Victory on Sewer Flooding in Stoke Road

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 23rd Nov 2004

Sue Doughty was contacted by local residents after a particularly heavy rainfall caused the sewer to flood in Stoke Road. Sue immediately contacted Thames Water and they agreed with Sue to follow this up as a priority.

Local residents had been suffering from the problem for some time following storms. However an investigation by Thames Water found that the sewer which runs through Stoke Road to Guildford was found to be blocked and had led to flooding in Recreation Road and Stoke Road. Hopefully the problems are now at an end.

Sue Doughty said: "I am very grateful to Thames Water for looking into this problem and getting it sorted out. This response has made a real difference to local residents."
