MP CONGRATULATES POLICE ON FIGHT AGAINST DRUG DEALERS

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 20th Nov 2003

Sue Doughty, MP for Guildford congratulated Surrey police on its continued fight against drug syndicates. She said "This is good news for my constituents who have been deeply worried by the criminal activities of Class A dealers. Today's operation is the result of a large amount of hard work by Surrey Police.

Guildford people are quite rightly concerned about funding for police activity in Surrey. The government has completely failed to recognise the need for the funding that we need, not only for activities of this type, but for routine visible policing. I hope that people will understand that nailing drug dealing criminals is essential in reducing crime associated with hard drugs and continue to give the police their full support
