MP SENDS SYMPATHY TO REDUNDANT BUS BUILDERS

Following the news that 48 staff at the Dennis Works of Transbus International have been made redundant Sue Doughty said:

"My thoughts are very much with these people and their families at this difficult time. Not only have they lost their jobs but there are still many unanswered questions about their pension situation.

"I will be discussing this issue further with staff representatives and also with the company administrators. I hope that as a result of this step the company will be able to find a buyer and that further job losses will be prevented. This has now become a matter of urgency as it is essential that potential customers for Transbus products are able to buy from a company with a future and that suppliers of components can have confidence in receiving payments."
