ANNUAL TRADE JUSTICE LOBBY MUST END SAYS MP

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 30th Jun 2003

Speaking at the Trade Justice Lobby meeting with local residents Sue Doughty said:

"This is the second Trade Justice Lobby. These annual meetings are not a celebration but a cause for sadness. We need action by world governments not protests by local activists.

The CAP must be strongly reformed to ensure that markets in developing countries are not swamped by subsidised goods which cost less than identical products produced locally."

On Saturday local campaigners were joined by Sue Doughty for their mid day silence in support of Trade Justice.
